Black Friday 2016 Why Cant I Shop on Apple Website
Any deals on Apple products are always a big draw for customers around the Black Friday sales.
Whether you're looking to upgrade your iPhone or pick up an extra pair of AirPods, there's no escaping the fact that Apple gadgets cost a pretty penny.
So any November reductions or special offers are a good opportunity if you've had your eye on something for a while.
The big question is of course whether or not Apple does its own Black Friday discounts, and the answer is…sort of.
Apple won't start slashing prices on iPhones left and right, but it will sometimes provide Apple gift cards of varying value alongside certain purchases.
While nothing has yet been confirmed for this year, it could be the case that eligible products will come with a bonus gift card thrown in.
Of course, that doesn't negate the fact that Apple devices are charged at a premium. So if you're keen to hunt down a saving, it's a better idea to look at other retailers who will almost certianly be discounting Apple tech.
Metro.co.uk's Black Friday shopping sense check
We love to bring you the best available bargains for Black Friday, but don't want you to go into debt or suffer financial hardship as a result.
When shopping the sales, ask yourself these questions to ensure you're buying smart:
- Do I need this? If your cooker has broken and needs replaced, this would be an essential purpose, while a new smoothie maker or air fryer is a desire not a need.
- Can I afford this? If you need to put something on credit - or put off essential spending to purchase it - you can't afford it. If it's a 'want' purchase, that means you should avoid. If it's a 'need' purchase, look for the most affordable option.
- Am I buying for the sake of it? Whether it's a gift or something for yourself, consider if you're buying just to take advantage of discounts. For the environment and your bank balance, try to buy with intention. This could mean fewer, better quality garments you actually love (instead of throwaway trend-led fashion), or only buying gifts you know will be treasured, rather than disposable trinkets.

When is Black Friday 2021?
Black Friday takes place on Friday, November 26, as it always occurs the Friday followingThanksgiving in the United States.
This will be followed by Cyber Monday on Monday, November 29.
Traditionally, Black Friday discounts end at 11.59pm on the day itself, or when the discounted stock runs out.
However, many big brands now extend their deals over the weekend and in most cases, into the Monday of the following week.
Although Cyber Monday was originally created as the online alternative to Black Friday, deals are now offered online across the entire weekend.
What Apple gadgets are likely to get discounted?
The biggest contenders for discounts are usually AirPods – Apple's wireless headphones.
Generally, it's the regular AirPods that get discounted, rather than the AirPods Pro.
Also, you may find a couple of the Apple Watch models are also on the receiving end of a price cut. We're not expecting the latest-and-greatest Apple Watch Series 7 to be knocked down but the Apple Watch Series 3 and the Apple Watch SE could be reduced.
If you're on the hunt for a new phone, it's a good chance that last year's excellent iPhone 12 will on sale as retailers look to make space for the iPhone 13.
When the iPhone 12 launched in 2020, there were great deals to be had on the iPhone 11, so we'd expect the same this time around.
Some retailers will also offer the handset with decent data packages attached to them – so you could pick up any of the four iPhone 12 models with unlimited data for a great price.
Finally, you can expect accessories like the wireless MagSafe charger or cases and covers for the iPad range to also be on the cut-price list for Black Friday 2021.
