Oriole Park is one of only nine stadiums in MLB without free Wi-Fi for fans

Honestly? I couldn't care less. I'm at the ballpark to watch the game and I don't really want to be tempted to dick around online at the same time. Not knocking anyone else's gameday routine, just stating my point of view.

High Quality

Yeah, not to mention that free public WiFi is basically open season for having your shit hacked. Your phone and its various social media apps send all kinds of non encrypted session data back and forth without you even realizing it. Facebook especially has repeatedly shown itself to be vulnerable to "passive" WiFi sniffing and various flavors of auth attacks.

I love following Twitter/Camden Chat/news on my phone as the game goes on, sharing pictures on facebook... it augments the experience of going to a game in a positive way.

AT&T is usually up to the task, but there are some games (like Opening Day) where the network is slow or doesn't work at all. Public WiFi would be great - not for me to use, but to offload a bunch of other users onto it to clear up bandwidth for me!

Doesn't matter if you have T-Mobile their network is blazing fast in OPACY. Was getting 30 mbps at a game last year...........me and my buddy get their extra early for giveaway games so I had nothing better to do lol.

Whaddya gonna do now, Buck?!

It definitely works better at Orioles games than at Ravens games, and it has improved dramatically in the last year or two at both, but it's not the best. I'm on Verizon too, who is supposed to have "XLTE" in the city, which is designed for handling more users than normal LTE.

Only nine tries to make it sound like it's one of a small amount that doesn't. You're not talking 9 out of 1000 or 100, but 9 out of 30. Also, it's not a big deal. If I had a complaint about OPACY it's the lack of hot dog vendors who walk anywhere near whichever section I happen to be in at a given game.

Edit: remove question mark

It's the lack of crab dip waffle fry locations for me.

I mean...I like that it's a little secret...but 3 spots is not enough.

level 1

There will NOT be free WiFi at OPACY by opening day 2015. There will however be metal detectors at each and every gate that all fans must pass through. Opening day is going to be a cluster!!!

level 2

Looks like it's time to invest in a plastic flask.

level 2

Nooooo. That sucks. What about the art of sneaking beer into a baseball game.

level 2

Metal detectors for every game, or just opening day?

level 1

I've heard that OPACY is one of the highest-rated fan experiences in not only baseball, but all of sports!

I don't think free wi-fi will do anything to really improve the fan experience. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?

level 1

Good. Why should there be wifi? Watch the damn game.

level 2

I use it at minutemaid stadium to stream the orioles.

level 2

why should people do things differently than I do? Do it my way or don't do it.
