Pumice Stone

Pumice stone is easily available in most of the households. It is a light-yet-abrasive stone used to remove dry, dead skin, and with an easy procedure one can also get rid of hard skin on their toe.

Supplies

  • 1 large bucket
  • Water
  • Pumice stone
  • Coconut oil

Steps

  • Boil 2-3 cups of water and add in a large bucket. Add 2-3 cups of tap water to make it lukewarm.
  • Put your feet in the bucket to soak the area of hard skin in warm water for 10-15 minutes. You can also add essential oil to the water.
  • Now, take your pumice stone and start rubbing in a sideways motion. Also, work your way up to small circles. Be gentle, try not to forcefully scrape the hard skin.
  • Once done, dry your feet using a towel. Apply a generous amount of coconut oil to soothe the skin. Repeat the process daily until the hard skin is completely gone.

Epsom Salt (Sendha Namak)

Epsom salt or as we commonly call it sendha namak has been used for ages to relieve pain and heal. Nowadays, it is more often used to reduce stress by adding in water. When it comes to corn, it can turn out to be highly beneficial as it can exfoliate hard skin.

Supplies

  • Large bucket
  • 2 tablespoon Epsom salt
  • Water
  • Nail buffer

Steps

  • Start by adding 2-3 cups of water in the bucket. Toss 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt into the bucket of water.
  • Soak your feet for about 8-10 minutes. You'll notice the hard skin has softened a little bit. Use a nail buffer to file down the layers.
  • Throw the water from the bucket and add lukewarm water. Soak your feet for another 5 minutes in it. Pat dry and apply moisturiser. Repeat until the hard skin is completely gone.

Baking Soda Paste

Baking soda isn't just an ingredient that is used to bake cakes and prepare dhoklas. While it is not recommended to use on face directly due to chemical composition, baking soda can be used as exfoliating cream on feet to remove stubborn skin conditions like corn.

Supplies

  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • Aluminum foil
  • Water

Steps

  • In a bowl mix baking soda and water to make a thick paste. Also, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.
  • Clean your feet with soap or sanitizer and apply the paste on the hard skin.
  • Take a piece of aluminum foil and cover the toe well. Let is sit for an hour.
  • Once done, remove the foil and wash your feet. You don't want your feet to become dry so apply moisturiser.

  • Pour castor oil in a bowl. Clean your toes with soap or sanitiser.

  •  Cover with aluminum foil to keep it from moving. Let is sit for 30 minutes.
  • Once done, remove the foil and wash your feet. You don't want your feet to become dry so apply moisturiser.
